Sherman Arts and Culture District

Many Sherman citizens may not realize that we have an officially designated “Arts and Culture District” in Sherman. The area of downtown near city hall, Kidd-Key Auditorium, the Municipal Park, Finley Playhouse, Honey McGee Theater, Bearcat Stadium, and The Methodist and Presbyterian Churches all make up the district, and its one of the parts of our town that has the most distinct character. Civil War Exhibit in McKinney
The Reluctant Confederates exhibit is a great day trip for you to take your family to. Not only is it educational, but kids love stuff that has to do with war, guns, horses, soldiers, etc. The exhibit is now open and running at the North Texas History Center in downtown McKinney. In addition to the main gallery, there is also a hands-on gallery that gives visitors a chance to experience a day in the life of a soldier in the Civil War.
