Frisco Roughrider

How ’bout a night at the ballpark without breaking the bank?  Sherman Parks and Recreation has reserved a block of group of tickets for the July 23rd Frisco Roughriders’s game vs. the Corpus Christi Hooks.  The seats are located behind the home plate this year.  As in the past, each person will receive a free Roughrider ball cap and as many grilled hot dogs, cheeseburgers, or chicken sandwiches that he/she wants.  They can also have as many Dr. Pepper products or waters as they want.  After the game, there will also be fireworks show.  So let’s break it down for the low price of $20 per person, you’ll get admission to the game with great seats, a free Roughrider’s cap, all you can eat and drink, and a fireworks show.  What a great deal.  Don’t wait, there is a limited number of tickets.

Movies in the Park

Back by popular demand we will be sponsoring two evenings of free movies at Fairview Park, [View Map].  Families are encouraged to bring out the blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy an evening under the stars and watch Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs on June 25th.  Based on the children’s book, this animated adventure follows a scientist who tries to solve his town’s problems only to see things go awry as food falls from the sky in abundance.  This is the most delicious event since macaroni met cheese.  Then on July 30th, we will show Caroline.  Caroline is a curious young girl who unlocks a mysterious door in her family’s new home and enters an adventure in a parallel reality.  On the surface, this “Other World” eerily mimics her own life – though it is more fantastical.  While encountering different versions of her own life ultimately, Caroline must rely on her resourcefulness, determination and bravery to get her back home.  Movies begin at dark.  Concessions will be available for sale.
