Today’s Devotional References:  Acts 9:11-15

When you read the book of Acts you will find amazing stories that describes the birth of the early church.  You will also find stories that highlight the lives of the individuals who were responsible for spreading the word of Jesus Christ through out the world.  These men and women faced incredible hardship and testing.  They were beaten, killed, thrown in prison and constantly harassed.

The book of Acts introduces us to one of the greatest Apostles of all time who’s name was Saul.  Today we know him as the Apostle Paul.  In the early years of his life his job was to hunt down Christians and throw them in jail.  One day as Saul was traveling to Damascus, which the capital of Syria today, he had a COLLISION with Jesus.  The passage tells us that he was thrown off his donkey and surrounded by lightning and thunder.  At that moment Jesus spoke to him and told Saul that he would be known as Paul and suffer much for his name sake.  At the same time Jesus spoke to a man named Ananias and told him that Saul was coming to visit him and that he must pray for him.

I want you to imagine being Ananias for minute.  If you were him you would know very well who this “Saul” character was.  Word had been spreading through out the cities that he was a hunter of the followers of The Way. I am sure that as he heard the words the Lord was speaking to him a wave of fear and doubt the size of a Tsunami, began to rise in his heart.  Ananias was face with the same decision we are faced with today.

Do we look at the facts or do we follow what we feel like God is inspiring us to do?  There will be times when the facts will not point us in the same direction that the spirit of God is pointing us.  I want to encourage you to make the same decision that Ananias did.  He did what God asked of him.  I hope that we have the courage to  “Just do it”.  Take inventory of your life and reflect about areas where you follow the facts instead of the Father.

Today is your day to do something about it.  Just do it!
