Hybrid cars have become extremely popular as the move to find cleaner modes of transportation becomes important. Hybrid cars have been billed as a cleaner and environmentally safer form of transportation. Hybrid cars have many advantages but unfortunately many hybrid owners have experienced a great deal of problems leading to many complaints.
One of the biggest selling factors of hybrid cars was the fact they are supposed to get more mileage per gallon. For many hybrid owners this has not been the case. Hybrid cars use a combination of electric and gas to make them go. There is a certain balance that must be achieved in order to get actually get more miles per gallon. Owners of hybrid cars, in essence, experience a significant learning curve in understanding how to drive this type of car.
Battery issues are another common complaint of many hybrid owners. Some hybrid cars use a type of battery that requires it to warm before use. There have also been reported cases of hybrids not working properly under cold weather conditions. Although there has been much progress made to correct these issues hybrids were supposed to offer a better driving performance while being more environmentally friendly.
Another complaint of hybrid cars is the engine silence factor. The engine of a hybrid car is specifically designed to be more efficient than any other type of car engine. The hybrid engine has to be more efficient in order to be environmentally friendly. Unfortunately, the efficiency causes the engine to become virtually silent. This may pose a serious threat to individuals that are handicapped such as a deaf person or even to children. The hybrid has great potential but there are certain items that will need to be resolved first.
